Run Your First Attribution Sync

Run Your First Attribution Sync

Learn how to trigger your first data sync, what each pipeline phase does, and how to read sync status so you know when your attribution data is ready to explore.

Connecting LinkedIn Ads and your CRM does not automatically produce attribution results. A sync is what pulls your engagement data, resolves the companies behind it, and matches them to CRM accounts, turning raw ad signals into the pipeline intelligence you see on your dashboard.

Attribution sync is available on all plans including Free. You need at least one LinkedIn Ads account and one CRM connection both showing Active status before you can run a sync.

How to run your first sync

  • In the left sidebar, open Connections (under the Workspace group).
  • Confirm both your LinkedIn Ads connection and your CRM connection show Active status.
  • Verify that at least one ad account is selected in the ad account selector.
  • Click Sync Now. The sync starts immediately and the status panel updates in real time.
  • The first sync typically completes within 5 to 15 minutes depending on the volume of your ad history and CRM data.
  • You can leave the page. The sync runs in the background and you can check progress at any time from the Connections page.

The Connections page shows each data source's sync status and last-synced time so you can confirm coverage before reporting.

What happens during a sync

Revenue Proven runs a multi-phase pipeline each time a sync executes. Each phase is responsible for a specific part of the data flow.

  • Pulling your LinkedIn engagement data.
  • Resolving the companies behind the engagement.
  • Matching companies to your CRM accounts.
  • Calculating influenced pipeline and revenue.

Best practices

  • Watch the status panel during your first sync so you can confirm each phase completes before walking away.
  • Before syncing, verify that at least one ad account is selected on the Connections page. Unselected accounts are excluded from attribution.
  • After the sync completes, check the Company Insights table to confirm companies are appearing. An empty table usually means a connection issue rather than a data issue.
  • Let the first sync finish fully before triggering a second one. If a sync is already running, a new one queues and starts automatically when the current run finishes.

Common mistakes

  • Triggering a sync before both connections are Active. A disconnected LinkedIn or CRM integration causes the sync to stop early.
  • Forgetting to select ad accounts after the LinkedIn OAuth. No ad accounts selected means no engagement data is pulled.
  • Assuming the dashboard populates instantly. Sync takes 5 to 15 minutes. Refresh the dashboard after the status panel shows Completed.
  • Triggering repeated manual syncs when the first one appears slow. Give the pipeline 20 minutes before assuming something is wrong.

FAQ

How often does Revenue Proven sync after the first run?

Automatically, once per day. You can also trigger a manual sync at any time from the Connections page. The daily sync keeps your dashboard current without any action on your part.

Which lookback windows does Revenue Proven sync?

Revenue Proven syncs across five windows: 7, 30, 60, 90, and 180 days. The 180-day window is available on Pro plans and above. Free plans sync only the 7 and 30 day windows.

What happens to existing data when I run another sync?

Each sync updates your existing records with the latest engagement and CRM data. It does not delete previous attribution records.

Can two syncs run at the same time?

No. If you trigger a sync while one is already running, the new sync queues and starts once the current run finishes.

Troubleshooting

  • Both connections show Active but the sync produces no company data: verify at least one ad account is selected on the Connections page.
  • A connection shows Disconnected when you go to start a sync: click Reconnect, re-authorize, and trigger a new sync.
  • The sync stalls on a phase for more than 20 minutes: refresh the page and click Sync Now again.
  • Repeated syncs fail on the same phase: contact support with the date and approximate time of the failed sync runs.
